Summary

Replace a faulty loudspeaker in iPhone 15 Pro if sound is distorted (static/crackling) and not due to software issues. This procedure requires disassembling the phone to access the loudspeaker module secured by four Phillips screws.

Procedure

Preparation

  1. Drain battery below 25% before starting
  2. Power off the phone completely
  3. Tape any cracks in screen/back glass for safety
  4. Mark opening picks at 3 mm from tip with permanent marker to prevent damage during disassembly

Screen Removal

  1. Remove two 7 mm pentalobe screws on either side of charging port (P2 pentalobe screwdriver)
  2. Heat bottom screen edge until hot to touch (hair dryer or heat gun)
  3. Apply suction handle to bottom edge and create gap with steady upward pull
  4. Insert opening pick into gap (max 3 mm depth at bottom edge)
  5. Slide pick along bottom edge to separate adhesive; leave pick in bottom right corner
  6. Heat right edge; position pick and rotate to release right clip
  7. Insert second pick and slide both to separate right edge adhesive (max 5 mm depth)
  8. Heat top edge; separate top adhesive with pick (max 3 mm depth)
  9. Heat left edge; carefully separate left adhesive (max 2 mm depth—avoid screen cables)
  10. Prop up screen on left side using box/books
  11. Disconnect battery press connector (bottom right corner of logic board)
  12. Disconnect screen cable from center of logic board
  13. Disconnect ambient light sensor cable from top left corner
  14. Remove screen

Loudspeaker Replacement

  1. Remove four Phillips screws (#000) securing loudspeaker:
    • One 2.7 mm screw
    • Three 2 mm screws
  2. Remove loudspeaker module

Notes

  • Caution: Two delicate screen cables near action button and left edge midpoint—avoid damage during disassembly
  • Multiple spring contacts around phone perimeter—do not exceed recommended pick insertion depths
  • Screen adhesive must be replaced during reassembly
  • Replacement screen adhesive is required to complete this repair
  • Ensure battery connector clicks fully into place when reconnecting (may sit slightly raised due to insulating rubber)
