Procedure

  1. Locate the SIM tray — Find the small ejection hole on the volume button edge of the iPhone.
  2. Eject the tray — Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole and press firmly until the tray pops out.
  3. Remove the SIM tray — Pull the tray fully out of the device.
  4. Replace or reseat the SIM card — Place the SIM card into the tray in the correct orientation.
  5. Reinsert the tray — Slide the tray back in, ensuring proper alignment.

Notes

  • This guide applies only to the international model A2894. US iPhone 14 Pro Max units are eSIM-only.
  • A thin rubber gasket around the SIM tray provides water and dust resistance. Inspect it during removal — if damaged or missing, replace the gasket or the entire SIM tray before reassembly.
  • Ensure the SIM card is correctly oriented in the tray before reinserting to avoid damage or read errors.
  • Required tool: SIM card eject tool (or equivalent small pin).
